Shell Gold

Shell Gold is available in 1/4 pans and comes in various different carats and shades, 23.5ct Yellow, 22.9ct Red, 22.9ct Lemon, 22.9ct Versailles, 18.4ct Green, 9.6ct Gris, Palladium and Silver. Shell Gold gets its name historically as it used to be stored in shallow shells such as clamshells. Shell gold is made from mixing genuine gold powder, palladium powder or silver powder with gum arabic into a tablet form. It is applied by using a slightly damp brush and gently agitating the gold pan. Shell Gold can be used for calligraphy work or for touching up areas such as intricate frames where Gold Leaf will not get into.
